Unlike many books on the basics of drawing, this one really does assume that you know nothing, so starts out with the most basic of basics. It is crammed full of sketches and only small, but appropriate, amounts of text. It is a pity that this kind of hard-edged instruction book is no longer in fashion. Do NOT be put off by its publication date!! This really is the one to start from zero with.
