When my bridge teacher first handed me the book, I gulped. The tiny font of the descriptions between the hand diagrams really put me off. But after I tried some other books on bridge defence which I didn't find as helpful as I would have wished, I finally went back to this one and started reading it cover to cover. Once I got beyond the first chapter, I was like "wow, this book really has everything I need". It gives a profound understanding of every part of defence, both against trump and no-trump contracts. While I still make a lot of mistakes in defending (who doesn't?), this book really advanced me by miles.
