A copy of this book was initally lent to me by person who's life has been elephants for many years. Unlike the book I purchased, this book was signed and given to him by "Slim" Lewis. Slim was his mentor and friend and the book was the basis of his methology for working with elephants. This shows the good and bad side of how elephants were worked and the determination of a boy through his life to work with some of the largest and dangerous (by behaviour) bull elephants. This book shows that working with these animals is not an easy choice, as it is a life career and it is in your blood. Only another person that works with them understands their impact on your life. I've worked with an African and an Asian bull elephant, plus a variety of female elephants and other animals in my time. Elephants are a passion and they are part of your family and you become part of theirs.
