Buckminster Fullers explorations as an architect, engineer, philosopher and futurist are extended into experimental book form through his collaboration with producer Jerome Agel and designer Quentin Fiore. I Seem to Be A Verbs utopian plans, clever insights and light-hearted musings rub elbows with revelatory and often jolting reminders that we are in motion, full of impulsive nerves, flowing blood and constant thought. This fun and challenging book is packed with images, dense layouts and narratives reading both front to back and in reverse. All this to remind us that we are verbs, not nouns! Buckminster Fuller was awarded 25 patents, invented the geodesic dome, the dymaxion car and was expelled from Harvard twice. I Seem to Be a Verb was originally published in 1970. I am convinced that creativity is a priori to the integrity of the universe and that life is regenerative and conformity meaningless. R. Buckminster Fuller.

Seller's Description:
Very good. Tight, square, uncreased spine. Clean, unmarked interior. Gently bumped corners. Areas of very light creasing and rubbing to the covers, but no other notable wear. Hard to find in such nice shape. Agel (producer) and Fiore (designer) are the same creative team behind The Medium Is the Massage, and this unique presentation of Fuller's techno-utopian ideals is in some ways even more adventurous than the better-known McLuhan book. Although Fiore was trained in traditional bookmaking techniques, including papermaking and hand lettering, he later began engaging in design experiments that presaged the relentless but often choppy information flow of the internet. This book is a great example an aphoristic barrage, accessed at any point, expressing Fuller's concept of dymaxion (a portmanteau of the words dynamic, maximum, and tension): 'I seem to be a verb, an evolutionary process an integral function of the universe. ' Two fragmentary texts, one printed in black and the other in green, run counter to one another, divided by book-length chyrons and occasionally interrupted by full-page and full-spread photos that tie together the dueling sequences.
