the ultimate ripperologist
The author of this book, Donald Rumbelow, is a former poloiceman and police historian. In this beautifully written book, he tells the story of the Whitechapel murders and their aftermath. He shows us Victorian London, and the victims, and also shows us possible suspects. Still, he has the honesty to say that the case, for him, remains unsolved. The book is well written and has many interesting photos and engravings from the time, though some are rather gruesome.
One word of warning, though. If you've read Rumbelow's "Complete Jack the Ripper," this is, essentially, the same book.
