Couldn't recall reading any Kingsley Amis writing so took a chance with this book. Not comfortable with his jerky style of writing at all; found nothing even faintly amusing about it.. Read first 2 chapters, tried a bit of chapter 3; didn't care to go on, so I quit reading. Perhaps someday, when I have absolutely nothing around to read, I might think about finishing Chapter 3 & check out chapter 4, but I doubt I'll ever be that desperate for reading material. I'll keep the book around to remind me never to try reading any more Kingsley Amis. I do look forward to checking out Martin Amis' newest Hitler book when it comes out later this year.
