Many texts related to active learning or differentiated instruction fail to consider the needs of learners with disabilities, especially those with significant disabilities and lack specific suggestions for differentiating activities for the range of learners in a typical class. Alternatively, this text focuses explicitly on inclusive classrooms by providing multiple options for instruction and direct examples for meeting the needs of students with disabilities including those with learning, cognitive, and sensory differences.
