This book really requires no additional review from me. It and it's companion book "Clay and Glazes for the Potter" are foundations of any potters library. The information though a little dated covers kiln hisory construction and use from earliest pit foring to modern gas electric and oil fired. The book contains clear directions and excellent illustrations for designing and building your own kiln and the pros and cons, and the aesthetic advantages and drawbacks of each.
