This is not a new book, but parents today would be wise to pick it up. It guided me when I was raising my son, who is now 28. He's also a university grad with no student loans, has a job and a car, lives in a rented house with 4 other young adults, and is applying to go to grad school. We should all learn from an early age that actions have consequences. You learn to be responsible for yourself and to think before acting. Kids understand when they're taught these principles.

Dreikurs' ideas using logical consequences is the most helpful idea to come along in years. I only wish I had learned this when my own children were young. These ideas have been around for many decades but outside pressures and criticisms caused them to be discounted. Too many toes got stepped on, I guess. Anyway, if you want to greatly improve your parenting skills I suggest reading this one! ............... Ed J.
