Louis Bromfield, 1896-1956, was an American author and conservationist who pioneered innovative farming techniques. Black quarter cloth spine with gold title panel, green tweed cloth over boards, clean and unmarked, sunned along upper edge, extremities lightly rubbed. Sewn binding is tight, solid and square. Pages lightly and evenly toned, quite clean and completely unmarked, no creases. This 1951 book by Louis Bromfield has a main character along the lines of T.V. series: Madmen. Well written about a middle age guy in an unhappy marriage and bank job (like Yates' Revolutionary Road). Wolcott looks himself in the mirror and starts asking tough questions....like Who am I? And it's not an easy process being conscious for the first time. Not an unexamined life. Interesting read and not yet found the public.
