Loved this story. Set about 100 years ago in a resort town, the heroine, Marguerite Westing is unconventional. She makes waves wherever she goes. She is determined to learn to sail, something young ladies just did not do. Her mother would never approve, neither would her boring suitor. She signs her brother up for lessons and insists on chaperoning him. She lies that she can swim, since Trip Andrews insists no one comes on his boat who cannot swim.
When Marguerite is caught in her lie, it's only the beginning of her problems. She has fallen for Trip, her father has a secret that could destroy their family, and she feels obligated to marry the suitor she detests.
This story had action and romance. You also learn about Lake Manawa and the bizarre things that went on there, like a woman who would set herself on fire and dive off a high platform every evening.

Following One's Heart
I always love a book that holds your interest from beginning to end. This is one of those books. You cannot lay it down.
Marguerite Westling shows us how we sometimes love others so much, we lie to ourselves and make excuses instead of following after truth. Love of family can sometimes keep one from doing what they know to be right.
Roger Gordon had to control every situation to get what he wanted. In the end it led to his ruin.
Secrets don't stay buried. They usually always come to the light. But being truthful all the time isn't easy either.
Following one's heart is not always easy. Marguerite found that out after meeting Trip Andrews.
All through the book the thought "the truth shall set you free" prevails.
Marguerite makes waves just about everywhere she goes.
You will discover romance, danger, struggles with decisions, adventure, and the truth of being truthful.
