Ruth Maran's "Illustrated Windows XP" learning manual is an excellent way for someone who already has a basic grasp of the Windows operating system to gain more experience and confidence. The illustrations and text are well though out and help develop a progressive understanding of the operating system. Just one word of caution: quite a bit of the "basics" are presumed and some of the brief sections are basically standalone so they do not build up sequentially nor depend upon previous materials for their learning objectives. Overall an excellent book full of practical elements. Well worth adding to your library if you are a graphically oriented learner.
