I expected the book to present "How to Master 6th - 8th Grade math through magic. Instead it showed how to master math 6th -8th graders learned 3-6 years earlier. Some 7th and 8th graders are now learning algebra. Why not show them the algebraic representation behind the magic instead of trying to explain "How it works" through an example? There are many books out there on math magic that show a wide variety of tricks. There was too much repetition of the tricks (mult. by 2 then mult by 5). Martin Gardner has several books on math magic and he has influenced many others to write math maigc books. Of course, Martin Garner helped to popularize math magic that already existed. So much more can be done with 6th - 8th graders.
