The facts are related clearly and in surprisingly readable prose. I say "surprisingly" because many books on Lourdes are not readable. This one is. The writer undertook the writing project as a curious Protestant. Her findings are related sensitively but also dramatically, although the drama is more the result of the facts themselves rather than of the author's style. The story is compelling. I've read many books on Lourdes, but this is probably the best, especially for the reader who has little or no knowledge of Lourdes or of the astounding events that have been taking place there since 1858. Although there is no index, there are numerous appendices (four, I think) so that the book functions as a very informative and readable sort of textbook-cum-catalogue of the events. Highly recommended.
