The states are overtaken and no one has the capacity to free it. The story shows that our technology is not yet ready to face aliens who could be far more intelligent than us.

This story was different
I loved Overtaken Captive States. It draws you in right from the start. I immediately felt that the world was real and that everyone in the story was real. The writer still managed to make the characters seem like real people, even though the story itself was so fantastical in nature. That's important too, especially in an alien invasion story. I need to actually care about the world that's falling apart, or there isn't going to be much tragedy to the situation when the aliens really do start invading. I know that I can just imagine that it's our world, but that's still going to undercut the drama by a huge margin. This story was different. I ended up really caring about all of the characters involved, and I got really scared of the aliens. I will definitely check out more books by this very same author.

definitely one good book!
Overtaken Captive States is one good book. The writer is clearly an indie writer, and I love supporting indie writers. People are sometimes critical of indie writers, but I think that the existence of books like this definitely proves those critics completely wrong. This is a really awesome book for many reasons. I like that it had a strong, smart female character who was actually capable of doing a lot of awesome things. I like that the people involved were actually trying to do something to really stop the aliens. These are not aliens who are just going to die the moment that they are doused with water. These are the kinds of aliens that are really threatening, which made the book really entertaining for me to read. I loved Overtaken and I would want to read it again.

oppressors from the other planet
The theory that humans were the most evolved in the universe was blown away. The Oppressors arrived from another planet and they changed everyone's thinking. They were human-like aliens who were far more technologically advanced. They lacked the compassion that humanity is known for. They killed without a thought and without a pause. A select few humans will be sent to another planet to continue the human race, the rest will be slaughtered. Josh teams up with Kamryn, and they start hacking the aliens, to defeat the Oppressors and save the people of Earth.

now they believe in aliens
The day the skeptics started believing in aliens was the day they appeared. The Oppressors, human-like aliens from another galaxy arrived and covered the skies over major cities with their dark massive ships. They loomed ominously over the cities and everyone was apprehensive. Josh was at work at the Pentagon when he first caught a glimpse of the ships. Knowing that it was not good news, he tuned in to the news and the President's speech. President Mason tried to assure the American citizens that they were safe. But no one believed him. Josh felt that perhaps the President didn't even believe himself. After the Oppressors have made their demands, it is clear that they are here to take over the Earth.
