Text quite full of "ads" for author and companies. Photos more distracting than useful. Just didn't seem to be must beyond the basics. Quite chatty and "entertaining". Maybe if you like the author from TV show it would be more interesting.

Out of the past but still up to date
Power Sewing is one of the sewing reference books that I have consistently checked out of our library for reference and I am happy to now own it. The techniques remain timely and the the presentation clear. For example the wrap dress she dissects is as new and stylish in 2007 as it was when she first published the book and her "Tricks of the Trade" give the homesewer like myself professional insight.

very helpful
Lots of good ideas and sewing tips with good illustrations. I liked it so much I bought an extra copy for my daughter.
