Don't remember where I heard about this book, but am glad I ordered it! What a wonderful writer. A lot of the people profiled are from before my time, but the profiles are witty, insightful, humorous, stylish.......I can't say enough about Kenneth Tynan. An example might serve. The opening line from his article on Greta Garbo. "What, when drunk, one sees in other women, one sees in Garbo sober." Not the kind of book to rip through on a rainy weekend. Savour it bit by bit. A definite winner.
