Even then there is a constant demand for a book to which they can refer for information enabling them to determine the chief rock forming minerals. Yet, although many of the works now published supply them with much that is useful, this want seems still to remain unsatisfied. It is essentially a student's want. Whether this book will in any way meet it, at least for the time being, is a question best answered by the book itself.
