A great start to an awesome series
The Landry series starts off with Ruby. This series is the VC Andrews classic 5 book series which includes 4 consecutive novels and a prequel. Starting with Ruby which starts off with Young Ruby Landry's life in the bayou in LA. She was raised by her grandmother and is curious about her father, whom she never met who apparently left her mother who died in childbirth. Her whole life her Grand mere Catherine promises that one day she will tell her the truth, and when she is on her deathbed she does. Come to find out her father is a wealthy real-estate tycoon from New Orleans, and she has a sister, a twin sister at that. Her twin Giselle was sold to her father and his barren wife by her Drunken Evil Grandpa. Ruby is hidden by her grandma who raises her in the memory of her daughter Gabrielle, who named her daughter before her death for her bright red hair. And that wasn't the first time Grandpre jack had sold his own blood. Come to find out Ruby's good friend (and love intrest ) Paul is her very own brother as a result of the rape of Ruby's mother by Paul's Father. Ruby goes on a quest to find her father and does and from there she learns about her family and learns how much society affect your attitude in her look alike some what evil twin. And Ruby's transformation from a Landry to a Dumas. I recommend the following novels All That Glitters, Pearl in the Mist, Hidden Jewell (Her daughter Pearl narrates) , and Ruby's Mothers Story Tarnished Gold. Ruby is just a quarter of the story the series tells it all and like all of VC Andrews books they will captivate you with Romance, Tragedy and hope. You wont be able to put them down.
