Jolie Chesney is a no-nonsense publisher of the local newspaper in her town who deals only in facts. But celebrated war hero Waldo Bowman does not appreciate that these facts about his sexual exploits show up in her gossip column. Their first meeting together is loud and electric, and Jolie finds herself intrigued by Bowman.
But Jolie must set aside her interest in Bowman when her star columnist - the very one writing all the naughty stories about Bowman - disappears, leaving only one small clue as to what could have happened to her. Jolie teams up with Bowman to trap the one responsible for her columnist's disappearance. Of course they two can't help but try to fight their attraction for each other - rather unsuccessfully, though.
The characters in this book are a delight. Jolie is very funny and very straightforward, which drives Bowman up a wall. But he can't help but enjoy her strong personality. I really enjoyed this story and I hope anyone who gets a kick out of strong personalities in their characters enjoy this book as well.
