Seller's Description:
Near Fine in Near Fine jacket. The 8th novel in Rendell's popular Inspector Wexford series. During a pop music festival in Kingsmarkham (a fictional town based on Midhurst in West Sussex), attended by about 80, 000 fans, a corpse is discovered in a quarry alongside a red dress. The victim is Dawn Stonor, a local girl who became a stripper. Investigator Wexford investigates her murder and the potential involvement of the festival's headliner, rock star Zeno Vedast. This copy is near fine in blue cloth with black titles on the spine. Slightly bumped spine ends is the only issue. No other marks or damage. The unclipped DJ has slight wear at the jacket spine ends but is otherwise excellent. Signed by Rendell on the title page. From a private collection. EB20.
