The book is a kind of fantasy of the perfect summer for a teenage girl. I read this book a long time ago and remembered it as my dream of a perfect summer. Rereading it was a pleasure. As an adult it evoked a sweet yearning for the ideal and it is a nice innocent read for a young girl's winter afternoon.
