Turmoil is a fantastically researched and well written novel that takes the reader back to the darkest times of the Troubles. It is simultaneously a historical, political and romantic story that is both sad and tragic just as Northern Ireland was. For those who never lived through the Troubles, this book can provide a better understanding of the daily struggle, and limitations, of life in that terrible period.
