The music on this album was played at these concerts; some of it was newly composed for the occasion, and some of it consists of big Strauss hits like the Pizzicato Polka and Wein, Weib und Gesang. The Russian pieces, even where indicated by a specific title, are only lightly Russian in flavor, but you can hear it in the minor half steps of the Russische Marsch-Fantasie, Op. 353.
