The Blessing Way
Another Hillerman hit. Ending surprised me and getting there was exciting! Always enjoy the Native American education flawlessly woven into a dramatic and well-told story. Enjoy!

werewolves and witches
This book is the first book by Tony Hillerman that features Lt Joe Leaphorn. Leaphorn is a policeman with the Navajo tribal police. Joe is looking for a man, a Navajo by the name of Luis Horseman who was in a knifing with a Mexican in a bar in Gallup, and then stole a car to get away. The car was later found on the Navajo reservation, so Leaphorn figures Horseman is hiding out in the hills somewhere. Leaphorn finds Horesman, dead, with his mouth full of sand. Bergen McGee, a friend of Leaphorn's, a college professor at the University of New Mexico, an anthropoligist, specializing in Navajo witchcraft, is planning to spend his summer break in researching more stories about Navajo withcraft for a book he is writing. There are stories abounding about sheep being killed by a "wolf man" a witch who can become one of several animals. Leaphorn really doesn't believe in witches, but he believes someone is trying to scare people away from a part of the reservation with sightings, and wolf stories. He doesn't know why, but he plans to find out, and try to find the killer of Horseman. A good story full of Navajo myths.
