Excerpt from The Blue Room There was a whoop of joy from the telephone closet in the hall, a rush back into the dining-room, and a message read in a young, round voice which trembled with something more than excitement. No one but she could share, or be permitted to see, his utter thankfulness. The chauffeur, with his eyes on his watch, sat waiting in the car.
