This is a wonderful book for those interested in turning inward in their Christian spiritual life. This book is, in many places, more similar to books by Buddhist masters than a typical Christian spirituality book. In part this is because this book draws significantly on the Eastern Orthodox tradition. One measure of a quality book is how it can lead the reader to other books. This book clearly does that. It provides excellent resources on the authors, and makes mention of or quotes from many other books throughout. Higly recommended.
