This was the first of what is now several books on the historical Jesus (a Pharisaic Jew faithful to the Torah throughout his life) and the disturbing misdirection mythologizing by Paul that resulted in the Christian church as we now know it. Not a book for the thin-skinned or sensitive Christian, but a book of outstanding insight and perspicacity -- confirmed by several other books that have followed in its footsteps.
