I went into this feeling curious, but by the end I realized I never quite landed on solid ground with it. I struggled to trust the main character, and while I don�t always need a reliable narrator, the way her personality and reactions kept flipping made it hard for me to stay connected. It felt less like intentional complexity and more like inconsistency, which pulled me out of the story instead of drawing me deeper in.
That said, I was definitely shocked at times by what was happening, and there were a few twists I truly never saw coming. Even so, the story kept bouncing back and forth in a way that didn�t feel cohesive to me. There were moments where I wanted to be impressed or emotionally hooked, but I never quite got there. By the end, I wasn�t madly in love or particularly disappointed. I was just unsure, and that lingering uncertainty summed up my experience with this book.
