Margaret Mahy truly captures the heart of the large family in this delightful and humerous children's book. From the beginning we are carried along with the McTavishes who have to choose between no children and a new car or lots of children and an old rattlebang. They choose to have 7 children and an old rattlebang and the rest of the story is full of silly and heart-warming adventures. This book is a family favorite and definitely one to own in your own library at home. Fabulously written with wonderful pictures by the incredibly talented Steven Kellogg. A must have.
