Lydia and her ex-lover Christopher travel together. He buys antiques for others and she keeps journals and takes photos. This novel, written as Lydia's journal, is wonderfully illustrated with pictures, maps and scraps of paper from a trip to Morocco. While in Morocco, Lydia arm develops a tattoo as the strange result of some hotel room acquired flea bites. This tattoo appears to be an ancient map. She investigates her map as Christopher ignores her odd behavior. Lydia meets a man who knows the tatyoo as he also has one on his arm. When Lydia disappears, Christopher tries to find her by retracing her steps before and during the trip, continuing her journal as his own. This charming book is a feast for the eyes and quick and savory to read. It is an absolute delight!
