Nero Wolfe in his prime
This is one of the Nero Wolfe trilogies - Nero and Archie and crew are in their typical wonderful form here - these stories are from the early '50s. I've read every Nero Wolfe tale ever written by Rex Stout and loved all but one (Black Mountain). I do like the full books better than the trilogies - always got the feeling the shorter tales were stories Stout intended as novels and decided mid-writing they weren't going anywhere so he cut them short.
