Seller's Description:
Collage decorated wrappers; 8vo. Trade paper issue (there were 50 in cloth, all letterpress) inscribed by Mathews "for Alvin [Feinman]/ these fearful assymetrics, / together with the warmest/ thanks for his presence", and signed "Harry". Alvin Feinman was a professor and poet at Bennington where this book was dated in 1978. Matthews sixth book and second from this press run by Rosemarie and Keith Waldrop. Uncommon given the 1000 printed and Matthews's (who died in 2017, and is described in his NYT obit quoting the Paris Review as "rightfully belongs to the experimentalist tradition of Kafka, Beckett and Joyce.") signature is scarce. Light wear to extremities, but easily Very Good with a quite tight text block.
