I describe my work as a Border Patrol Agent on the United States Mexico border and at U.S. Ports of Entry around the Country. It will illustrate my transition from a police officer to a federal agent. I discuss my experiences and attempt to clarify some common misconceptions about the southern border and the immigration problems it is plagued with. I also discuss my experience working as an Immigration Inspector, Senior Inspector, and Area Port Director. This book will also cover the transfer of positions from the Area Port Director in the U.S. Virgin Islands to a Supervisory Special Agent in New Orleans. I aim to write another book about my experiences, detailing each position I held, starting from a Supervisory Special Agent position to working as a Special Agent for Internal Affairs for the Department of Homeland Security, and sharing details about the various roles I served in.
