Good. No dust jacket as issued. Book First Edition, 1899, with matching dates. The contents include a foldout map plus 12 full page B/W illustrations. Light shelf wear to the text. Tightly bound in green cloth with gilded titles with moderate shelf wear and fading to the spine, remains Good plus. This copy is from a 19th Century private lending institution, the Mercantile Library of New York City. The Mercantile Library stamp and number are on the title page and some of the internal pages and the front pastedown has their bookplate. There are no external indications of the library's ownership.
