During his lifetime he was known as the "Hoosier Poet" and "Children's Poet" for his dialect works and his children's poetry respectively. His other famous works include "Little Orphant Annie" and "The Raggedy Man". Howard Chandler Christy (1873-1952) was an American artist and illustrator famous for the "Christy Girl", similar to a "Gibson Girl".
