One of the best novels ever written about the fledgling TV industry in New York, way back when. Bester was trying to break out of his genre (science-fiction) and write a main-stream best-seller...and was far too good a stylist to get away with it.
Think 'Mad Men', only with a lot more flash and versimilitude.
