I got interested in reading the "Frost" detective series after viewing the British television series based on these books. The television series was wonderful and prompted me to read the books from R.D.Wingfield which were the basis for the series. Winter Frost is just one of the series that I purchased and it did not disappoint! I found the character studies even better than the television program, which is not unusual, but it wasn't boring or slow paced. The stories are gritty and very real. The character of Detective Jack Frost is like a British Columbo. A scruffy character but exceptional at his job, aside from his paperwork which is always a mess and turned in late. His wisecracks about his fussy boss have you laughing and really make you like Frost. If anything bad happened to you, you'd want Jack Frost on the case! If you like British Detective/mysteries, you'll love Winter Frost. I highly recommend it!
