This is a useful book for one who wishes to survey most of the available forms of poetry. The examples given of the different types of poems are limited, but provide a good sampler of the best of each genre. It's a useful reference for playing around with different templates. For in-depth material, other books are more useful, for example, Rules of the Dance for metric poetry or Robert Hass' The Essential Haiku.
