Reginald Hill, as usual, develops an intriguing cast of characters. The plot is somewhat of a twist from his earlier Dalziel and Pascoe novels, and keeps the reader wondering up till the end (or at least, very close to it.) The usual interplay/frictions between Dalziel, Peter and Ellie Pascoe, Sgt. Singh, and "Wieldy" continues to develop and lends considerable interest to the story line. If you are a fan of British mysteries, and the Dalziel and Pascoe series especially, this is definitely a good read.
