My two kids and I enjoyed this book on the travels of a slave in early america. I especially enjoyed the contrasts about the gods and the religions of the tribes. The book leaves you with an awareness and amazement of the life and times of the mexican, aztec and indian people and how it might have been. We were sad in the end and talked about how we would have liked to end the book... It promoted good discussion with my kids. It was very interesting and thought provoking!

Great Historical Adventure
I read this book when I was a chid... a long time ago...in 4th grade I think. It was one of the most enjoyable reading experiences ever and I have remembered it all my life. It is my pleasure to recommend this book to any young reader
